Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid are tracking Hoffenheim's Brazil international Roberto Firmino, according to German magazine Kicker.

Firmino, who was linked with Premier League giants Liverpool last year, while more recently Manchester United have been scouting the midfielder in the Bundesliga, has turned heads with his displays.

Indeed, Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal sent his chief scout in Germany to watch Firmino in action earlier this month.

But the Brazilian has another admirer in the shape of Atletico Madrid, with Simeone eyeing taking him to the Vicente Calderon in time for the start of the 2015/16 season.

Firmino further raised his stock yesterday when he scored Brazil's goal in a 1-0 friendly victory over Chile at the Emirates Stadium.
