English giants Leeds United are showing interest in Morocco international striker Mounir El Hamdaoui, who currently plies his trade for Italian outfit Fiorentina.

The 30-year-old is firmly on the fringes in Italy and sees his contract with La Viola expire at the end of June, making him an attractive free transfer proposition.

Leeds are owned by former Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino and boast ex-Cagliari sporting director Nicola Salerno as their head of football.

The club extensively raided the Italian market last summer and look set to repeat the trick this coming summer, as Cellino bids to shape the side for a promotion push.

And according to Italian daily Unione Sarda, Fiorentina hitman El Hamdaoui is now on Leeds' list of potential signings.
