Barcelona are keeping a close watch on Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera as they feel he has the ability to replace Xavi at the Nou Camp.
Following his big money move to Manchester United last summer from Athletic Bilbao, the Spaniard found it hard to nail down a spot in Louis van Gaal’s starting eleven.
However, the midfielder has finally become a regular starter over the last month or so and has played a key role in Manchester United’s recent run of good form.
He has earned widespread praise for his performances in the middle of the park for the Red Devils and now he is also attracting attention of some of the top clubs in Europe.
Barcelona did try to snare him from Athletic Bilbao last summer but their €15m offer was rejected and he left for Old Trafford after Manchester United paid his full release clause of €36m.

However, the Catalan giants have not given up hope and according to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo, the club are closely following the Spaniard’s exploits in England.
Barcelona believe Herrera has the ability to replace their veteran midfielder Xavi and become the fulcrum of their team in the future.
However, the midfielder has been talking about a long stay at Manchester United and the club are also in no mood to lose the player in the near future.
