Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches believes that Aston Villa's current league standing will make his side's work more difficult.

The Villans, who are in desperate need of points to save their Premier League status, will visit White Hart Lane on Saturday to take on Mauricio Pochettino's side.

And having beaten the Claret and Blues the last time around at Villa Park back in November last year, the Lilywhites will be confident of completing the double against Tim Sherwood's side.

However, Chiriches feels that the job won't be an easy one for his team in any way as the visitors will surely show signs of desperation in coming away with all three points and further their chances of escaping the relegation dogfight.

The 25-year-old also took time to single out Christian Benteke, who he believes is a man on fire and might prove to be difficult to contain.

“I’ve seen Benteke and he’s on fire”, Chiriches told his club's official website.

“I think we’re going to have a difficult game on Saturday because Aston Villa are fighting for survival and they will make it tough for us, but hopefully we can manage to put on a good performance and win the match."

While reflecting on the disappointing goalless draw against Burnley last week, the Romanian expressed his hope about the team's finding their best form during the remaining matches of the season, starting from Saturday.

“It was disappointing that we didn’t win at Burnley, but it was a hard game. Hopefully we are going to be at our best in the last seven games so we can have a good end to the season.

“I think we have the quality to win all the games that we have left and if we play to the best of our ability the victories will come.”
