Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they will travel to the United States this coming summer to take part in the 2015 MLS All-Star game.

The match will be held at the ground of MLS side Colorado Rapids and take place on 29th July at 9pm local time, 2am in the United Kingdom.

Spurs spent part of their pre-season last year in North America and manager Mauricio Pochettino is pleased to book a return, feeling it will serve as the perfect preparation for the 2015/16 Premier League season.

He explained to Spurs TV: "The fact that this will be our only fixture outside of Europe during pre-season says a lot about how we view this game.

"We enjoyed three tough matches last summer in North America and the quality of football in the MLS continues to grow every year.

"Pre-season is an important time for us and we look forward to being a part of one of the biggest events on the US soccer calendar."

Tottenham currently sit seventh in the Premier League standings with 54 points from 32 games and face a battle to ensure European football at White Hart Lane for next season.

Pochettino's side went down to a damaging 1-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa at the weekend with former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood securing all three points against his former club.
