Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has insisted that the club are keen to hold on to Mauro Icardi, who has been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Icardi’s future was again thrown under the scanner after the forward rejected a new contract offer from Inter recently and though he has stressed that he wants to stay, the club are struggling to meet his financial demands at the moment.

Inter are nervously looking over their shoulders because there is interest from England for Icardi and both Manchester United and Liverpool are keeping track of the situation as they ponder a move to take the Argentine to the Premier League in the summer.

Despite interest from the English giants, the Inter sporting director stressed that they intend to keep the striker at the club as he is a key part of their future plans.

He also added that Inter are working on extending the forward’s contract with the club and are finalising minute details of their fresh offer.
