Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has urged the Camp Nou faithful to get behind their team when they play Valencia in their next league fixture tomorrow.

Heading into tomorrow’s clash, the Catalan giants are currently sitting atop La Liga, two points clear of their nearest rivals Real Madrid.

Valencia have enjoyed a remarkable season of their own under manager Nuno Espirito Santo and are currently occupying fourth spot in the table and are strong favourites to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

In the reverse fixture at the Mestalla, Valencia gave a tough fight to Barcelona and the Catalans prevailed only after a very late goal by Sergio Busquets. And Enrique expects a similarly intense battle tomorrow at the Camp Nou.

The Asturian has urged his club’s supporters to make their presence felt and spur the Barcelona players to give it their all, saying that his team are stronger with vocal fans behind them.

“The complications which Valencia will give us tomorrow – just like they did when we met at their stadium, means that I have to ask our fans for extra support", he was quoted as saying at a pre-match press conference by AS.

“I have never had to do this before but I want to see the team flying on Saturday and the whole stadium erupting because we will need it.

“We are much stronger when we have our fans behind us; we hope they make their presence felt and they spur us on to take all three points.

“I hope the Camp Nou trembles with passion tomorrow and whenever the team is lacking clarity, I hope they help us. Now more than ever it’s important that they get behind us.”
