Borussia Dortmund are ready to rival Liverpool for Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio this coming summer.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is a firm fan of the Portuguese shot-stopper and is eyeing taking him to Anfield as competition for current number 1 Simon Mignolet.

But while Sporting Lisbon are ready to sell for the right price and Patricio is ready to move on, Liverpool face opposition for the goalkeeper's signature.

According to Portuguese daily O Jogo, Borussia Dortmund are ready to battle Liverpool for Patricio when the transfer window swings back open in the summer.

Despite the imminent departure of coach Jurgen Klopp, Dortmund are still pushing ahead with their summer planning, with sporting director Michael Zorc leading the charge.
