Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci is likely to miss the Whites' final two games this season with an injury.

The Italian was one of six Leeds players who declared themselves unfit before the weekend's trip to Charlton, despite head coach Neil Redfearn feeling all six would be available to face the Addicks.

The club have claimed Bellusci is suffering from a hamstring problem and now they say they have booked him in to see a specialist later this week.

And the centre-back is unlikely to be available for Redfearn to select against either Sheffield Wednesday or Rotherham United.

Leeds said in a statement: "United defender Giuseppe Bellusci is likely to miss the final two games of the season following an MRI scan on his recent injury.

"The Italian centre-half is now being referred to a specialist later this week."

Leeds snapped Bellusci up last summer from Italian outfit Catania and he has featured in 30 games for the Whites in his first campaign in English football.

The defender's performances have often split Leeds fans, with Bellusci often appearing to dive into challenges with reckless abandon.
