Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has indicated that he will leave the club if he doesn’t feel wanted at the Etihad.

The Ivorian’s future at the club has been a constant source of speculation for the last few months as many feel his days at the Etihad are numbered.

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is desperate to reunite with Toure at Inter Milan in the summer and Toure is also believed to be tired of the constant criticism of his performances recently.

The midfielder has come in for harsh criticism for his recent showings and was heavily chastised by pundits for his performance in Manchester City’s 4-2 defeat in the derby at Manchester United earlier in the month.

Toure stressed that if he feels unwanted at Manchester City he would not think twice before leaving them and pursuing a fresh challenge in his career.

He also added that a potential change of management at Manchester City would not have any effect on his decision as it will be based on what he wants from his career going forward.

"No amount of wages will make me stay at a club if I feel that I no longer belong there or if no challenge exists for me", Toure told Foot Mercato.

“As I have said before, I owe it to the City fans to fight just until the end of my career at this club, just as much as I owe it to myself and my continent.

“My decisions will not be affected by changes in management, but more by the challenges that will be offered to me.”

Toure continues to play an influential role for Manchester City on and off the pitch and was impressive in their win over West Ham last weekend.

The latest development should provide confidence to Inter who are working hard to cobble together a deal for the midfielder.
