Borussia Dortmund are plotting a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko this summer to bolster their attacking options for next season.

Dortmund made heavy investments to take Adrian Ramos and Ciro Immobile to the Westfalenstadion last summer but both their recruits have failed to provide much threat up front, which has contributed to their disappointing performance this season.

While it is not clear whether they are looking to offload the duo at the end of the season, the club hierarchy are keen to add more teeth to their attack for next season.

According to Bild, Manchester City striker Dzeko features prominently on their shortlist of potential attacking targets for the summer.

While Dzeko is still a key member of Manuel Pellegrini’s squad at the Etihad, he has often drifted in-and-out of the starting eleven this season and it is believed the Bosnian is thinking about taking up a new challenge for his career.
