Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has refused to be drawn on his side's interest in PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay.

The Red Devils, along with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, have been given to speak with Depay and his representatives by the Dutch club.

It was claimed in the Netherlands today that earlier this week Van Gaal held a secret meeting with Depay in an effort to convince him a move to Old Trafford is in his best interests.

Depay is also expected to hold talks with Liverpool and PSG as he assesses his future.

When questioned at a press conference today, Van Gaal refused to discuss Depay or a reported meeting he held with the winger, while insisting he cannot buy all the players he has coached.

The former Netherlands boss explained: "I don't discuss it with the media.

"You know my answer.

"I have a lot of relationships with players. I cannot buy all the players I have coached already."

Depay has been in stunning form for PSV in the Dutch Eredivisie this season and has already helped the Eindhoven-based side to win the league title, ending Ajax's stranglehold on the crown.

PSV are thought to be looking for a fee in excess of €30m to part with the winger.
