Giuseppe Bellusci has insisted he is delighted that Leeds United ended their run of five consecutive defeats today by beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1.

Neil Redfearn's men headed for their Yorkshire derby on a run of poor form, but 90 minutes and goals from Charlie Taylor and Steve Morison later, had three points in their pocked as they returned to Leeds.

Bellusci was one of six overseas signings to pull out of the Leeds' squad before last weekend's defeat at Charlton Athletic, shocking Redfearn who had believed all would be available to play.

It has been suggested that several of the players pulled out to stage a protest of some sort, while club legend Trevor Cherry urged the six to be sacked by the Whites.

Bellusci has now been ruled out for the rest of the season, but has saluted Leeds' win against the Owls, while suggesting talk of players faking injury is nothing but a myth.

He took to Twitter to write: "We were sad about the five defeats and now we are happy to have this victory.

"You should only think about Leeds. Not about myths."

Bellusci also appeared to take issue with some messages he has been sent on the social media service.

Earlier today he wrote: "People think we are sad because Leeds won?

"But how can you put it? Why do you have to bring bad feelings to the team? MOT please."
