Roberto Martinez says his Everton side were perfectly happy to let Manchester United boss possession today at Goodison Park, with his side clinical on the break in registering a 3-0 win.
Everton took the lead in only the 5th minute at Goodison Park when the Toffees hit Manchester United with a lethal counter attack, James McCarthy surging between Paddy McNair and Daley Blind to score.
30 minutes later it was 2-0 when defender John Stones connected with a powerful header, sending the ball flying past David de Gea.
Manchester United brought Radamel Falcao on at half-time and then Angel di Maria later in the second half, but to no avail as Everton then grabbed a third, Kevin Mirallas finding the back of the net in the 73rd minute.
Falcao saw a goal ruled out for offside in the 81st minute to complete a miserable afternoon for Manchester United as they went down to a 3-0 defeat.

Martinez is delighted with his side's win and was quickly asked about the tactics he employed against Manchester United, given as Chelsea did last weekend, his team allowed the Red Devils to dominate the ball.
"You know Manchester United are a very good side in the way they work on their positional play and the ball", he told Sky Sports.
"We were happy to let them have it in certain areas.
"We showed incredible intensity in turning possession into a real threat at goal.
"The way we were able to combine with Romelu Lukaku up front. Overall we were very strong in every department and it wasn't just that we were counter attacking", Martinez added.
