Liverpool target Memphis Depay has denied that he held secret talks with Manchester United recently over a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Speculation surrounding Depay’s future at PSV Eindhoven exploded last week and there was talk of secret meetings with various clubs interested in acquiring his services.

While the winger is expected to leave the Philips Stadion this summer, it is still unclear where his eventual destination lies. Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have been allowed to talk with the player’s representatives for a summer move for Depay, but it is believed Manchester United are in pole position to sign him because of his relationship with Louis van Gaal.

There were also rumours that the 21-year-old met a Manchester United delegation led by Van Gaal to hold secret transfer talks last week, but when questioned about the alleged meeting Depay told FOX Sports: “I have not spoken with Manchester United. There is absolutely nothing in that.”

The Dutch international has also stressed that he is yet to receive any calls from any clubs and denied making any comments about his future as he stressed that he himself is not sure what will happen this summer.

“And I have had no call from anyone too”, Depay added.

“I have nothing to say about it.

"We’ll see how it goes; I know nothing myself, so I have nothing to say at the moment.”
