Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has expressed his happiness at Philippe Coutinho's inclusion in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, insisting that it is fantastic to have his talent recognised.

The Brazilian has been a revelation for the Reds this season, having scored seven goals in 47 matches and has also provided his team-mates with five assists.

And his impressive form has led the Professional Footballers' Association to include the 22-year-old in their best eleven from the top flight. The declaration of the Team of the Year was made by the association ahead of their annual awards ceremony on Sunday.

According to Coutinho's manager, the inclusion is recognition of all the great work the youngster has done for his team throughout the course of the season.

The manager also feels that Coutinho has earned his place among the best in the league by sheer merit and deserves to be well placed among them.
