Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier insists that his team now have to do what they have been aiming to do the entire season – and that is to get three points every single game.

The Lilywhites have found consistency lacking this season and are currently placed sixth in the league table with 58 points from 34 matches and are desperate for a European spot next season.

And with the season drawing to an end, with just four matches remaining, Dier insists that his side have to rise to the occasion and try to finish the season with a flourish.

“We now have to do what we’ve been doing all season, which is try to get three points in every game", Dier told his club's official website.

“We have four left and we have to give our all in all four and see where it takes us.”

While reflecting on their draw with Southampton this weekend, the youngster added: “We were disappointed, though, because we wanted the three points."

Dier though was pleased with the way his team responded to come from behind to draw the match against Ronald Koeman's team, thus keeping their place in the league table intact.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game. Southampton have been doing great this season and they have a great defensive record, so to come back from going a goal down twice is a real positive for us."

The Lilywhites are set to entertain Premier League champions Manchester City at White Hart Lane this coming weekend.
