Monaco's sporting director Luis Campos was in the stands for Sporting Lisbon's Portuguese Primeira Liga victory over Moreirense last night to watch goalkeeper Rui Patricio and midfielder William Carvalho, according to O Jogo.

The Ligue 1 outfit are planning their transfer strategy for the summer and coach Leonardo Jardim is keen to ensure that this season's run to the Champions League quarter-finals was not a flash in the pan for the principality side.

Currently sitting third in Ligue 1, Monaco are on course to book another Champions League campaign for the 2015/16 season.

Goalkeeper Patricio is a potential signing for Monaco, although they may have to fight off Liverpool for his services, with the Reds having shown interest in the Portugal international.

Jardim, who coached Sporting Lisbon before leaving to take charge at Monaco, is also a firm fan of William.

The tough-tackling midfielder may be a more difficult fish to fry for the Stade Louis II outfit though, as Arsenal and Manchester United have been consistently linked with making a bid.

Jardim hopes to have money to spend this summer, though he is operating to a strict budget and hoping to avoid the return of Radamel Falcao to the club, with the Colombian picking up a salary of €12m per year.
