Ahead of tonight's German Cup clash against Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has urged his side to defeat the holders, insisting that their match against the Bavarian giants is nothing short of a final.

Borussia Dortmund have been drawn to play their German Cup semi-final against the reigning German champions and the match will be played at the Allianz Arena.

BVB are lying a lowly eighth in the table as Bayern Munich wrapped up the title last weekend, and wining the domestic cup remains the Black and Yellows' only possibility of silverware this season. And Klopp, who has announced that he will leave the club in the summer, has urged his charges to defeat Pep Guardiola’s team and book their place in the final.

“This is the hurdle that we have got to overcome to get to the final”, the 47-year-old told his club’s site.

“Now we have to face the number one opponent.

“Now it is the semi-final. Now we have to play away from home. Bayern won’t do you any favours.”

Bayern Munich sealed the league title with a win over Hertha Berlin last weekend and they also dispatched Porto in style in their Champions League quarter-final tie, giving a hint of the imperious form they are in.

However, Klopp takes heart from his team’s displays against the Bavarian giants as they prepare for tomorrow’s clash and urged his team to give another top performance.

“But we have won there before, we need to give a top performance and be right there where it matters right from the start.

“This is a final.

“There is no way you can avoid the intensity of this game.”
