Real Madrid forward Javier Hernandez feels that Carlo Ancelotti is closer in his approach to the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, but diametrically opposite to current Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman is currently in his first season with the Red Devils and he has guided them to fourth spot in the Premier League as the Manchester giants look to return to the Champions League after a year’s absence.

Hernandez didn’t fit into Van Gaal’s scheme of things upon his Old Trafford arrival and he promptly sent the Mexico international on a season-long loan to Real Madrid last summer.

The 26-year-old, who was signed by Ferguson in 2010, has revealed that Ancelotti is a lot similar in his approach to management to the legendary Scotsman.

And consequently, the Italian is diametrically opposite to the current Manchester United boss, whom he described as a strict disciplinarian.

“They [Ancelotti and Van Gaal] are very different”, Hernandez was quoted as saying by AS.

“Ancelotti has a little more contact with us, he is quieter.

“Van Gaal likes routines, schedules remain the same. He is very strict, he likes discipline.

“Ancelotti is more like Ferguson. He gives you freedom.”

Hernandez was declared surplus to requirements last summer by Van Gaal and is expected to be made available by Manchester United this summer.
