Marco Silvestri has vowed to stay at Leeds United and insists he is not thinking of leaving Elland Road.

The goalkeeper, who joined Leeds last summer, has recently seen his relationship with the club's fans suffer after he was one of six players to suddenly declare themselves injured ahead of a trip to face Charlton.

Whites head coach Neil Redfearn had been expecting all six to be available if required and was left stunned as one by one they declared themselves unfit for action.

But despite the incident, Silvestri remains committed to Leeds and feels that he has the full support of club owner and president Massimo Cellino.

"Me and my partner feel fine here. The president has always had an eye for me", Silvestri told Gianluca Di Marzio.

"My idea is to stay and I would be very glad for that to be confirmed."

Silvestri also spoke warmly of his experience of playing in the English second tier, saluting the Leeds fans for their faithful support and reflecting on the atmosphere generated for Championship games.

"It's an amazing thing", the goalkeeper explained.

"Here for every game there are at least 25,000 fans who will push for forward from the heart and always urge you to give something more.

"It's a completely different way to experience the game. Here the fans are special. They follow the team together with the opponents, without any problems, except for rare exceptions, because even here there are fans who experience a heated rivalry."

This season Silvestri has clocked up 43 appearances in the Championship for the Whites, keeping 12 clean sheets. It is unclear whether he will be in goal for tomorrow's season finale against Rotherham United at Elland Road.
