Ahead of Sunday’s clash against Crystal Palace, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has given an update on his squad.

At a pre-match press conference, Mourinho revealed that Diego Costa will be missing against Crystal Palace this Sunday, but Loic Remy will be back in action.

When asked if the Spain international will be available for Sunday’s clash, the Portuguese replied, “No.”

He denied that the striker has suffered any injury setback and said that playing Costa against Alan Pardew’s team is too much of a risk, which he is unwilling to take.

“It isn't worth the risk.”

However, the Portuguese added that if Chelsea require the forward’s services he would be back in the team, but in the prevailing circumstances, he doesn’t want to risk Costa in order to give him the maximum time to recover.

“In this process of the last month if we lose a game and we do not want to lose the second he will be back immediately.

“We don’t need to rush.

“So we want to give him max stability for him to be stronger and stronger.

"There is a chance he might not play before the end of the season.”

The manager further added that Remy, who has missed Chelsea’s last four league fixtures, will be back for the Blues at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

“Remy is back”, Mourinho declared.
