Paul Pogba’s agent flew down to Spain last week to hold talks with Barcelona over a potential transfer for his client to the Nou Camp.

The Catalan giants have been slowly laying the groundwork for an eventual stab at signing the French midfielder in the future.

Pogba is one of the most sought after young talents in Europe at the moment and clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid are ready to dig deep into their resources to sign the midfielder in the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are also involved in the tight race for Pogba’s coveted signature but Barcelona are currently emerging as the favourites to land the Frenchman in the near future.

According to Catalunya-based daily Sport, Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, was in Spain last week to negotiate terms on behalf of his client with the Catalan giants.

It has been claimed that Pogba is also keen to join the Spanish giants and has asked his agent to negotiate a deal with Barcelona for a potential transfer.

However, Barcelona’s transfer embargo remains a hurdle in any negotiations. The club are ready to reach an agreement with Juventus over Pogba which will come into effect at the end of next season.

A transfer fee of around €70m is also under discussion but it remains to be seen whether Juventus agree to such a deal or accept a bigger offer from another one of Pogba’s suitors in the summer.
