Roma have the entered the race for Cerro Porteno’s Paraguayan teen sensation Sergio Diaz, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Liverpool.

The 17-year-old forward has been causing ripples on the South American youth circuit, and has caught the imagination of a number of top clubs across Europe.




His performances in the South American Under-20 Championship for Paraguay earlier this year attracted the attention of the English duo of Manchester United and Liverpool, who have been keeping a close watch on his progress since then.

Borussia Dortmund are also known to be the admirers of the teenage sensation but Roma are the latest club to develop a liking for Diaz.
 


Roma scouts have also been keeping a close eye on the Paraguayan Under-20 forward since the tournament earlier this year and the club are ready to take concrete steps to get a deal done for Diaz.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the Giallorossi are ready to table a bid of around €2m to tempt Cerro Porteno into sanctioning the striker’s sale in the summer.

A highly-rated forward in Paraguay, it remains to be seen whether the 17-year-old will be keen to join a European club at such a tender age.
