FC Groningen defender Hans Hateboer is relishing the club's Europa League campaign next season and dreaming of locking horns with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Groningen won the Dutch Cup yesterday, beating Zwolle 2-0 in the final of the competition and thereby booking their spot in the Europa League. Now thoughts having increasingly turned towards what the club expect to be an exciting 2015/16 campaign.




Hateboer is excited about the season to come, with European football on the agenda, and cannot help but ponder taking on some of the game's heavyweights.

He told Voetbal International: "I'm just thinking about who we can come up against in the group stage of the Europa League.
 


"Liverpool, Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur. That would be good enough", the 21-year-old added.

Hateboer is a product of Groningen's youth system and only broke through into the club's senior ranks in 2013.

The defender, who operates as a full-back, is a Netherlands Under-21 international.

In the Eredivisie, with two games left to play, Groningen sit eighth in the table with 43 points from 32 games.
