Manchester City are ready to throw their hat into the ring for Torino full-back Matteo Darmian, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Arsenal.

Darmian has been attracting eyeballs with his assured performances for Torino in the Italian top flight this season and he enhanced his growing reputation with a goal and an assist in the Turin derby against Juventus last month.

The 25-year-old also broke into the Italian national team last year and with 12 caps to his name, he has already established himself for the Azzurri on the international stage.

Arsenal and Manchester United are believed to be keeping a close watch on his progress at the Stadio Olimpico Il Torino and it has been claimed that Inter Milan are also interested in acquiring the Italian full-back’s services.

However, another English club have entered the race for the Torino man as according to Italian daily Il Mattino, Manchester City have joined the growing list of Darmian suitors.

With an ageing Pablo Zabaleta in their squad, Manchester City are keen to recruit a young full-back and Darmian features prominently on their shortlist of potential targets.

However, with more than two years left on his contract, Torino are expected to be tough negotiators and the club hierarchy have already indicated that it would require a large sum of money for them to sanction his sale.
