Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic feels that his team showed character and quality to win the Premier League with three matches still to be played.

The Pensioners won their first league title in five years after they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

Matic, who was also part of the squad that won the title in 2010, insists that it is a special feeling for him having not been involved so deeply in the action back in 2010.

The 2014/15 season has been much greater in that sense, with Matic having managed a total of 46 appearances for Jose Mourinho's team this season, compared to three during the 2009/10 season.

Matic is even more delighted for the fans who have supported Chelsea the entire season. In order to be the champions, a team have to be the best in the league all season and Matic believes that his team were better than any other team this season, allowing them to win the league with three matches still to be played.
