Sol Bamba has stressed that his priority is remaining at Leeds United and has urged the Whites to do a deal for his services quickly.

The powerful defender is currently on loan at Leeds from Italian outfit Palermo. He joined the Whites in the winter transfer window and wasted no time in making a big impression.

Bamba, who came with a recommendation from Steve Thompson, who was recently assistant at Leeds until his suspension, has become a firm fan favourite and helped to plug a leaky backline.

The Ivorian is settled at Leeds and wants to sign for the club on a permanent basis. And he would like Leeds to start talks to do so as soon as possible.

"I'm desperate to come back here. The manager and the fans have been brilliant, I love the club", he told LUTV.

"But I'm like everyone, I have to wait, but my first priority is to stay here and I don't say that just to make people happy, I really feel good here, my family are settled with the kids and the missus as well, so I will give everything to stay here.

"I don't want to put pressure on them, but sooner would be better than later. I'm going to wait until they come back to me because my priority is to come back here.

"If we can make something here it would be good, but if not I will have to look somewhere else."

Leeds played their final match of the Championship season on Saturday, recording a 0-0 draw at home against Rotherham United in front of over 30,000 fans.

For Bamba, the result was yet another clean sheet achieved by a backline he is now an integral part of.
