Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista has thanked manager Arsene Wenger, who he believes has created a family at the Emirates Stadium, serving as a father figure.

The Brazilian, who joined the Gunners in January for a fee in the region of €14m to €15m, has had an injury troubled start to his Arsenal career, limiting his appearances to just five in the Premier League.

However, the former Villarreal player has found life at Arsenal good, with the veteran manager being there to take care of him.

For Gabriel, Wenger is more of a father figure than a mere manager, who takes care not only of him but all the other players playing for the club.

The 24-year-old is therefore happy to have a family away from home and also with people praising Wenger's work for Arsenal.
