Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista is full of confidence over the side's ability to finish as runners-up to Chelsea this season.

Jose Mourinho's Chelsea secured the Premier League title yesterday with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. The success is the Blues' first title since 2010.

With Manchester City also winning yesterday, Arsenal are now three points behind the second placed Citizens and will be aiming to close the gap this evening when they take on Hull City at the KC Stadium.

For Gabriel, signed from Villarreal in the winter transfer window to bolster Arsene Wenger's defensive options at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal have it within themselves to finish second, despite several games not going to plan.

"We’ve got a very good team", he told his club's site.

"We had a few games that didn’t go quite as well as we had hoped but I think it’s possible to still come second", Gabriel added.

Arsenal's remaining games this season are Hull (away), Swansea (home), Manchester United (away), Sunderland (home), West Brom (home) and Aston Villa (FA Cup final, Wembley).
