West Ham linked Algerian striker Ishak Belfodil is close to terminating his contract with Parma after failing to agree terms over a new deal.

The forward joined Parma last summer on a permanent deal from Inter Milan but has scored just once for the club this season in 23 appearances.

The player’s representatives were locked in negotiations with Parma over a new deal for their client for the last few days but it seems their talks have hit a brick wall.

According to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, Belfodil and the club have failed to agree terms for a new deal and the striker is set to terminate the contract, which expires at the end of next season, with Parma.

Though West Ham were interested in acquiring his services during the winter transfer window, it remains to be seen whether they will be keen on a player who has hit the back of the net just once this season.
