Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to stay at the club but admits that the decision is not in his hands anymore.

A 1-1 draw in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Juventus at the Bernabeu knocked Real Madrid out of the competition last night.

While the Juventus players celebrated, the reigning European champions looked dejected and with Barcelona favourites to win La Liga, there are rumours that Ancelotti’s days at the club are numbered.

The Real Madrid hierarchy showered words of praise on him after Ancelotti delivered a tenth European Cup last season but 12 months down the line, things have changed and his job is now believed to be on the line.

The former Chelsea boss stressed that he wants to continue in his job at Real Madrid but admits that the decision to keep him at the Bernabeu rests with the hierarchy.

“I put a lot of time into my work because I like it but I don't think it's for me to judge my work – that's up to the club”, Ancelotti told UEFA.

“I don't have to think [about my future]. If the club are happy with what I have done these two seasons then I will stay.

“My future for me is decided, I would like to stay here, but I know how things are in football and the club have the right to change coach if they want.”
