Liverpool have been linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, who has been chased repeatedly by rivals Manchester United over the last year.

The Bianconeri are keeping a close watch on Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan and are keen to bring him to Turin this summer.

It has been claimed that Juventus’ interest in Nainggolan is fuelled by the suspicion that they might lose Vidal, who was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, when this year's summer window opens.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, another English club in the form of Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the Chilean midfielder and are keen to take him to England at the end of the season.

Liverpool are losing their influential captain Steven Gerrard to Los Angeles Galaxy this summer and believe that Vidal has the ability to replace the former England skipper at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers wants to sign an influential midfielder and the Juventus midfielder features prominently on their shortlist of targets.

However, Manchester United’s long term interest in Vidal could complicate matters for Liverpool as Louis van Gaal is still believed to be in the market for a box-to-box midfield general such as Vidal.

Any interested clubs could have a tough time doing a deal though as the Chilean has indicated in recent times that he is keen to continue his career with the Italian champions.
