Olympiacos have lodged an enquiry for former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic with Inter Milan.

After spending more than eight trophy laden years at Manchester United, the veteran defender joined Inter on a free transfer last summer.

However, his Italian adventure didn’t go according to plan. A change of managers in the middle of the season also didn’t help his cause as new boss Roberto Mancini didn’t warm up to the Serbian initially.

Though Vidic managed to cement a starting berth at the latter half of the campaign, there are murmurs Mancini is unsure about the defender, who will turn 34 in October this year.

Amongst rumours of the Inter boss looking to offload him in search of a younger centre half, there is speculation that Vidic is feeling unsettled at the San Siro.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Olympiacos have sought to take advantage of the situation and have lodged an enquiry with Inter for the Serbian hard man.

The Greek outfit are keen to get their hands on the vastly experienced Vidic if Inter decide to part ways with him after only one season.

The 33-year-old made just 28 appearances across all competitions for the Nerazzurri this season.
