New Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler says he is not daunted by the challenge at Elland Road and insists he will have an input into who goes and comes on the playing side over the summer.

Rosler has signed a two-year deal with Leeds at Elland Road and succeeds Neil Redfearn at the Yorkshire giants.

He was asked about how he feels having taken over at Leeds, a club that have worked their way through four managers in less than a year, and told a press conference: "I don't know how you feel, but I'm very happy. I've been out of work, used the last six months to educate myself, study players.

"I was always keen to come back in the summer, but then this one came at short notice, it was available and you can't get any bigger.

"I had a meeting with Mr [Massimo] Cellino and I also met with Adam [Pearson]. It was a very short space of time, a few things were made clear in terms of roles and responsibilities", Rosler continued.

"My title is head coach. I will be responsible for key members of staff around the first team, the group of players, the tactical approach, the technical approach, picking the team.

"I will have an input in terms of players going in and coming out."

Rosler inherits a side that finished the last Championship season in 15th spot, having flirted with the relegation zone at points during the campaign.

The German manager, who last worked at Wigan Athletic, has been tipped to appoint Gunnar Halle as his assistant.

The club's owner, Massimo Cellino, has set a target for the club to win promotion to the Premier League within the next two years, or he will sell up and leave Elland Road.
