Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has said that he is pleased with Frank Lampard’s stint at the Etihad Stadium this season and labelled him a “great professional.”

Lampard arrived at Manchester City at the start of the current season after a 13-year spell with Chelsea, with whom he won a hatful of trophies over the course of his time at the club.

The 36-year-old went on to make 37 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens, scoring seven times and assisting a further four goals for his team-mates. However, the Manchester giants failed to retain the title as Chelsea sealed their first championship in five years.

And Pellegrini has expressed his delight with the way Lampard’s stint went at the Etihad and has wished the midfielder well as he embarks to New York City of the MLS.

"Very pleased", the Chilean said of his impression of Lampard's time at the club, via his club's site.
