Leeds United have held talks with Jermaine Beckford's representatives, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The 31-year-old striker is currently on loan at League One side Preston North End and was watched by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino in the League One playoff semi-final against Chesterfield.

Beckford is currently on loan at Preston and has been released by parent club Bolton Wanderers, meaning he will be available on a free transfer.

Leeds have held talks with Beckford's representatives, but are just one of a number of clubs interested in the former Everton man.

Beckford is not a stranger to Leeds and counts the Whites amongst his former clubs, having turned out at Elland Road between 2006 and 2010.
