Louis van Gaal is looking forward to visiting his "paradise" villa in Portugal after Manchester United's final game of the season tomorrow, however he insists that he will not really be on holiday, with his phone and his computer always by his side.

The Dutchman looks set to lead the Red Devils to a finish of fourth in the Premier League this season, securing their spot in the Champions League next term.

Last summer Van Gaal spent over £150m on new players and as the summer transfer window again approaches, he is again expected to splash the cash.

And as he retreats to his villa in Portugal, he will ensure he always stays in touch with Manchester United to play his part in setting up and approving deals.

"Immediately after the match we will have a farewell drink and after that we have a recovery day, and then we go off. All the players have to fly out to international duties but I will go on holidays and I’m willing to go to my paradise in Portugal", he told MUTV.

"No, [deals will be] not [just] to Ed [Woodward] because you also have a telephone and computer, so we are always in contact. As a manager, you never have holidays but I am in a better climate than here in Manchester. I am sorry to say that!"

Van Gaal could have a tricky transfer summer ahead, with Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea having been linked with leaving the club.

The Dutchman also has an extensive shopping list, with a centre-back, a midfielder and a striker thought to be on the agenda for the Red Devils.
