Despite Ajax and Feyenoord making the running for Willem II left-back Mitchell Dijks, only one bid has so far been lodged for the defender and that is believed to have come from Celtic.

Dijks has held talks with both Ajax and Feyenoord, with the Dutch pair keen on tempting him to join them this summer.

It had been believed the duo were ahead of the competition for the talented defender, but Willem II insist just one bid has come in and it is from a foreign club.

Club technical director Carlos Aalbers told the Brabants Dagblad: "We have so far only received one offer for Mitchell Dijks, from a foreign club."

Scottish champions Celtic are thought to be the team in question, with Bhoys boss Ronny Deila keen to snap Dijks up.

Dijks only joined Willem II last summer from Ajax, after being declared surplus to requirements at the Amsterdam ArenA.

He penned a two-year deal with Willem II, with Ajax negotiating a sell-on fee which means they will receive 50 per cent of any sum banked for Dijks.
