Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said that he is keen on his side being a dominant force in the Premier League and wants them to challenge for the title year, building upon their success this year.

The Blues secured their first league title in five years with four matches to spare after defeating Leicester City 3-1 towards the end of the last month. Having won the League Cup with a defeat of Tottenham Hotspur in the final in March, Mourinho’s side have finished the season with a domestic double.

It is the Portuguese’s second spell in charge of the Pensioners, having guided them two league titles during his first stint at the club that lasted from 2004 until 2007.

And Mourinho feels that his current charges still have a long way to go before they match the achievements of his previous Chelsea team, but he is keen to take them to the same pedestal.

“The teams of 2004/05 and 2005/06, and also after that, were fantastic teams and players”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

“This team is at the beginning, they have won one Capital One Cup and one Premier League, and they have to win more to be better than that.

“You can win something in a certain moment and that’s it, or you can win on a regular basis, that’s what makes the difference.

“Let’s try to motivate them to do that.”
