Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has vowed to return stronger next season after the current campaign ended without major silverware.

Bale, a world record signing for Los Blancos from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur, played a decisive role in helping the Madrid giants win the Copa del Rey and the Champions League last season.

They started this season brightly pocketing the UEFA Super Cup and went on a 22-match winning run that included a FIFA Club World Cup triumph towards the end of last year in its wake.

However, the reigning European champions failed to continue the momentum into the new year and ended the season without any major silverware, which has ultimately cost manager Carlo Ancelotti his job.

Bale has also been criticised for his failure to repeat his performances of last season and the Bernabeu faithful have often whistled him to show their disenchantment with the Welshman.

But the forward is keen on silencing his critics by a strong campaign next season.

“Not the end of the season we had hoped for, we always want to win trophies!” Bale wrote on his Twitter account.

“Will be working hard in the off season and looking forward to coming back next season stronger with Real Madrid.”
