Liverpool have announced new contracts for defensive duo Kolo Toure and Andre Wisdom.

Wisdom has just spent the season on loan at West Brom and clocked up 24 appearances for Tony Pulis' men in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has put pen to paper on what Liverpool have described as a "long-term contract" to stay at Anfield.

Toure meanwhile has extended his current deal with Liverpool to ensure he will still be at Anfield into next season.

The veteran defender was snapped up by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers on a free transfer in the summer of 2013.

He made 24 appearances for the Reds during his first year on Merseyside and followed it up with 21 this term.

The 34-year-old centre-back is likely to continue to act as a backup option in defence for the Reds.

Toure started his career in his native Ivory Coast before being taken to England by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

He remained with the Gunners until a 2009 move to Manchester City, at which he won The Premier League and the FA Cup.
