Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew has expressed his happiness after making a full recovery from his injury that ruled him out for five months from December last year.

Mulgrew suffered from a thigh muscle strain in early December and has missed a major chunk of the Hoops’ domestic double success as a result. His injuries saw him make only 20 appearances in all competitions as the Bhoys won the league and the League Cup double.

The 29-year-old was part of Celtic’s last two games of the season and made a substitute appearance in the second half against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a 5-0 win after which Ronny Deila’s men were presented with the Premiership trophy.

The left-back has expressed his happiness at his return to full-fitness after spending five months on the sidelines and is keen to make up for lost time in the coming season.

“Being out any time as a player is tough, but it is especially so when there’s a big change at the club”, he told Celtic View.
