AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has said that Carlo Ancelotti will announce his decision regarding a return to the San Siro on Wednesday.

Galliani and the former Chelsea boss have been locked in talks over the past few hours as the AC Milan CEO tried to convince Ancelotti to return to his old stomping ground of the San Siro this summer.

Ancelotti, who was sacked by Real Madrid on Monday, is known to be thinking about taking a break from football, but AC Milan are desperate to take him back to Italy for next term.

It has also been claimed that the club hierarchy have pleaded with the former Chelsea boss to take charge of the team for at least one season.

Following their meeting Galliani revealed that Ancelotti will communicate his decision to AC Milan on Wednesday.

The club CEO was quoted as saying by Sport Mediaset: “Carlo will give a definitive answer next Wednesday.

“According to Carlo the decision is 50-50 but it will remain 50% until Wednesday, then it will be either 100% or 0.”

Liverpool are also hoping to rope in Ancelotti if they decide to sack Brendan Rodgers this summer but the club might need to take a decision quickly because of AC Milan’s proactive steps over the last few days.
