Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that they are close to signing Arsenal target Sami Khedira on a free transfer.

The Italian champions have been working hard over the last few weeks to sign the German midfielder and he has already undergone preliminary medical tests with the club.

Khedira is expected to arrive in Turin later this week to undergo a final medical before putting pen to paper on a contract rumoured to be worth around €4m per season with the Bianconeri.

While the deal has not been finalised yet, the Juventus CEO revealed that the club are on the cusp of signing the midfielder on a free transfer.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Marotta said: “We are close to signing Khedira.

Arsenal were also believed be on the trail of the German international and were plotting to take him to north London before Juventus swooped in to take the lead in the chase.
