John Guidetti has accused Celtic manager Ronny Deila of saying one thing to him and another to the media in Scotland.

The Sweden international has just finished a season-long loan stint at Celtic and is now on the lookout for a new club as his contract with parent side Manchester City is expiring.

Deila wanted Guidetti to agree to join Celtic on a permanent basis and the striker says when he refused, the Norwegian tactician dropped him.

"It [why I was dropped to the bench] was because I didn't want to sign on", Guidetti told Aftonbladet.

He added: "He [Deila] said straight out that he would give priority to those players who wanted to be there."

Guidetti says that dropping out of the starting eleven picture was a source of frustration, while he is also unhappy that Deila told him things in private that he did not repeat in public.

"It is clear that it was frustrating", the striker explained.

"He said completely different things in the media than he said to me.

"If you are the top scorer and assist maker in terms of a number of matches and then still don't get to play, then that is quite strange."

The striker, who netted 15 times for Celtic during his loan spell and picked up the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup, is now the subject of a transfer scramble.

At present Trabzonspor are leading the race for his signature.

And Guidetti doesn't feel his loan spell with Celtic was a bad choice.

"I did score a lot of goals, got a lot of credit and won my first two titles.

"But clearly it was difficult in the spring when the manager did not want to use me."
