Turkish giants Fenerbahce have tabled a €10m bid for Arsenal’s Costa Rican forward Joel Campbell.

The Costa Rican international returned to Arsenal last summer after a fruitful loan spell at Olympiacos and Arsene Wenger refused to let him go, promising him more first team opportunities.

However, he continued to remain a fringe player for the Gunners, before he was moved to Villarreal on a six-month loan in January, where he impressed in his 16 appearances in La Liga.

Campbell is set to return to Arsenal this summer and there is speculation that he is eager to leave the club for more first team opportunities somewhere else.

Fenerbahce have moved in for the Costa Rican and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they have placed a €10m bid on Arsenal’s table for Campbell.

The Turkish giants have been interested in the player for some time now and have finally acted on their interest with a firm bid for the 22-year-old.

With players such as Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez settled in the Arsenal team, Campbell is unlikely to get more minutes in the first team next season and there are rumours that Arsenal are ready to let the player go this summer.
