AC Milan have started talks with M'Baye Niang's representatives over a new contract in a bid to ward off interest from Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and Newcastle United.

The young French talent spent the season half of the season on loan at Genoa where he turned in a series of impressive performances.

Niang's agent has already informed AC Milan that his client is keen to ensure regular playing time next term, something which has alerted a number of clubs to his potential availability.

Indeed, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle all have their eyes on developments in Italy, while Monaco are keen on Niang too.

AC Milan however are trying to persuade the youngster to increase the length of his contract by a further two years, taking it through to 2019.
