Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has told Manchester United target Mats Hummels to move to the Premier League, talking up the excitement of the English top flight.

Ozil left the confines of the Bundesliga following the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and headed for Spain with Real Madrid. However, in the summer of 2013 he made the move to England, signing for Arsenal for a club record fee of £42.5m.

The attacking midfielder is loving life in the Premier League and feels that Borussia Dortmund defender Hummels, along with Schalke centre-back Benedikit Howedes, would succeed in England's top flight, a league in which any team can beat any other.

"I would recommend any player coming to the Premier League. It is the best league in the world and here there are not only two teams fighting for the title", Ozil explained to Bild am Sonntag.

"There may be three or four teams in the battle", Ozil continued.

"At the same time it is a league in which every team can beat every other team – and it's exciting.

"Mats Hummels and Benedikt Howedes could succeed at really big clubs over here. I'm sure, if they want to change.

"However, it is up to each player to decide this."

Hummels has been consistently linked with Louis van Gaal's Manchester United, while Howedes has been mooted as a target for Ozil's Arsenal. Both defenders would have no shortages of suitors if they opted to quit the Bundesliga for England's Premier League.

Ozil has won two FA Cups in England with Arsenal.
