Besiktas president Fikret Orman has revealed that Stoke City and Sevilla target Yevhen Konoplyanka has rejected three bids from the Black Eagles, giving hope to his Premier League suitors.

Konoplyanka has been heavily-linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium this summer.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the 25-year-old for the past few transfer windows although he has stayed put at Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk thus far.

The winger had been one of the standout performers for the Ukrainian outfit and played a significant part in their third place league finish and their foray into the final of the Europa League, which they ultimately lost to Sevilla.

Orman has revealed that his side’s bid to prise him away to Turkey has been rejected three times by the Ukraine international, and as a result they have given up the chase for the winger.

“I have held three meetings with the player and on each occasion, his answer was no”, Orman told Turkish national broadcaster TRT.

“As of the moment, nothing has changed and we have started looking at other players.”

Reigning Europa League champions Sevilla have also actively pursued Konoplyanka’s signature, but he recently acknowledged that he would prefer a move to the Premier League.

The recent developments will be music to the ears of Stoke boss Mark Hughes as he bids to add the 25-year-old to his ranks.
